Poole ebike collision arrest made

Police investigating a road traffic collision in Poole that left a pregnant woman needing hospital treatment have arrested a teenage boy.

The collision happened at around 3.50pm on Monday 26 January 2026 in Herbert Avenue, close to the junction with Manor Avenue, and involved an e-bike and a pedestrian. Officers say the rider of the e-bike failed to stop at the scene following the incident.

The pedestrian, a woman in her thirties who was pregnant at the time, attended hospital for treatment. Police have confirmed her baby has since been born and remains in hospital in a serious condition.

Following enquiries, a thirteen-year-old boy from Poole has been arrested on suspicion of a driving offence and remains in police custody.

Police Sergeant Dan Yates, from the Roads Policing Team, said the investigation is continuing and confirmed an arrest has been made as part of those enquiries. He also thanked members of the public who came forward with information to assist officers.

Police are still appealing for anyone with information about the collision, who has not yet spoken to officers, to make contact. Anyone with details is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55260012364. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers.
