West Parley manager secures 29th award

A West Parley site manager has secured the 29th national award of his construction career.

Dave Murnane, who’s 57 years old and from Hengistbury Head, is overseeing Bellway’s Kingsmere Park development and has delivered hundreds of homes across Dorset and the South West during a 40-year career to date.

He has worked for Bellway for 25 years and has now collected 18 Quality Awards, 10 Seals of Excellence and one Regional Award through the National House Building Council’s annual Pride in the Job competition.

Only 449 of the 7,500 site managers inspected received a Quality Award this year, with judging covering leadership, technical expertise, attention to detail, health and safety and the everyday running of construction sites.

Dave said the recognition came from maintaining the “same high standards every single day”, adding that consistency and teamwork had driven the results achieved across the development over the years.

Dave and the other Quality Award recipients will now be considered for the Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards at the next stage, with the results due to be announced in the autumn.
