Two public film events will take place at Bournemouth’s Palace Court Theatre on consecutive evenings.
The People’s Emergency Briefing will be shown twice on Wednesday 29 July, featuring scientists discussing climate change, its implications for the UK and the collective action they believe is required.
Open community discussions will follow both screenings, with local MPs, councillors and civic leaders invited by Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Councillor Andy Hadley to take part in the conversation.
Arts University Bournemouth Vice-Chancellor Lisa Mann will join both panels before the venue hosts the Bournemouth International Film Festival 2026 launch on Thursday 30 July.
The evening will include a screening of Ken Loach’s 1969 drama Kes, followed by a question and answer session, panel discussion and networking for filmmakers, students and people interested in cinema.
Dan Cox from AUB said hosting the event would “deepen our relationship” with the local festival while introducing more of the region’s creative community to the Hinton Road venue.
The 1930s Art Deco theatre is being used by AUB as a town-centre space for creative work, public events and community engagement.
