Barley Mow reveals major refurbishment

The Barley Mow Inn near Wimborne has completed a major refurbishment inside and outside.

The work has created a larger bar, a more spacious entrance and a brighter open-plan interior, while the thatched roof has been renewed and a covered garden terrace added for dining throughout the year.

Business partners Shannon Brown and Tim Allen have run the pub since September 2024 and say the outdoor stretch tent will also be used for themed events, including summer pop-ups and a winter alpine bar.

A new head chef and assistant chef have joined the team, with weekly homemade specials added to the menu alongside more vegan and gluten-free choices for customers with different dietary requirements.

Tim said the new area gives the pub a “versatile dining area” for every season, while Shannon said they were “thrilled” with the changes and grateful for the support behind the refurbishment.

The couple are also considering a campsite on 5 acres of neighbouring land, which Shannon said could appeal to tourists visiting Dorset and support their plans to develop the business further.
