Nine arrested in Bournemouth crime probe

Nine people have been arrested in Bournemouth following a coordinated investigation into organised criminal activity.

Eight arrests were made yesterday and a further arrest today during an operation led by the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit, supported by officers from Dorset Police, with all suspects detained in the Bournemouth area.

Those arrested include six men in their twenties, a man in his forties, a man in his sixties and a woman in her twenties, all held on suspicion of involvement in an organised crime group, money laundering and drugs related offences.

Officers seized large amounts of cash, commercial quantities of cocaine and cannabis, weapons, high value vehicles, luxury goods and jewellery, while searches at several Bournemouth premises are continuing as part of the ongoing investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Adam Smith said the operation had used extensive resources and resulted in nine suspects being taken into custody, adding that targeting drug supply across the region remains a clear priority.

Detective Superintendent Emma Sweetzer said Dorset Police would continue working closely with partners, noting the significant impact drugs can have on local communities and confirming efforts would continue to pursue those suspected of involvement.
