Helpful Hounds concludes AFCB partnership
Helpful Hounds Assistance Dogs has concluded two successful seasons as an official charity partner of AFC Bournemouth.
The Dorset charity, which trains assistance dogs to support young people and families, received a donation cheque from John Jennings at AFC Bournemouth to celebrate the partnership’s completion.
Reflecting on the collaboration, chief executive Peter Rufus said it had been a rewarding experience for both organisations. “The two seasons seem to have gone so quickly, and it has been great to follow the Cherries’ performance in the Premier League. These seasons have also been fantastic for Helpful Hounds – the partnership has given us greater exposure and helped us grow our reach, allowing us to support even more people across the local community.”
The partnership saw Helpful Hounds’ ambassador dog Raffi represent the charity at community and matchday events, helping to highlight the positive impact assistance dogs can have on mental health and wellbeing.
Helpful Hounds continues its work across Southern England, training dogs and supporting schools and families. With ongoing backing from donors and volunteers, the charity aims to help even more people in need of its life-changing services.
