Free climate film screenings are continuing across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole this month.
The People’s Emergency Briefing examines how a changing climate could affect public health, infrastructure, nature and everyday life, while setting out practical steps that residents, organisations and councils can take to prepare for future challenges.
Screenings at Scaplen’s Court in Poole and Highcliffe Castle in Christchurch have sold out, while 2 showings remain at Bournemouth’s Palace Court Theatre on Wednesday 29 July, beginning at 5.30pm and 8pm.
A separate viewing is also being held at Parkstone United Reformed Church on the same day, with panel discussions planned after the council screenings to consider climate risks and preparations across the BCP area.
Councillor Andy Hadley said the film offers an “accessible introduction” to the climate and nature crisis, while focusing on practical action to improve resilience.
He said the screenings give residents an opportunity to “learn more about the risks we face together” and share their views about local preparations.
Attendees will also be able to learn about climate action and adaptation work already taking place locally.
