Graffiti removal stepped up in Bournemouth
Graffiti removal work across Bournemouth town centre has increased as efforts continue to support local businesses.
Bournemouth Town Centre BID says 359 graffiti sites were cleared during 2025, averaging around 30 locations each month, with the specialist cleaning team focusing on markings on shopfronts, doorways, alleyways and walls affecting levy paying businesses.
Activity has already risen this year, with 65 sites cleared during January alone, more than double the usual monthly average, as the BID continues its programme to tackle tagging and help maintain a clean and welcoming town centre.
A graffiti site can range from a small tag on a doorway to larger wall coverage requiring specialist cleaning, with teams visiting regularly to remove markings from properties belonging to BID levy payers.
The BID says consistent removal helps discourage repeat vandalism and reduce signs of neglect, which can affect perceptions and footfall for retailers and hospitality venues operating in the town centre.
Businesses that discover graffiti on their property are encouraged to contact the BID so the specialist team can arrange removal.
