A new joint plan has been launched to help people across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole into work and improve their wellbeing.
Dorset Council, BCP Council, NHS Dorset and the Department for Work and Pensions have introduced the Get Dorset and BCP Working Plan, bringing together local organisations to make it simpler for residents to find employment, training and the right support when they need it.
The plan recognises that good health plays a key role in helping people start and remain in work, and sets out shared goals including improving access to support, assisting people facing barriers such as health conditions, helping young people gain skills for employment, and building a fairer and more resilient Dorset.
Councillor Richard Biggs, Dorset Council’s cabinet member for economic growth, said the work would ensure partners support residents into work or training and connect health, skills and employment support in a way that works for local people.
Councillor Millie Earl, leader of BCP Council, said the ambition was to deliver better and faster support and help residents across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole develop high demand skills.
