A packed programme of events is beginning across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole this summer.
Poole Quay Folk Festival returns this weekend, bringing music and Morris dancing to the waterfront, while the Shake and Stir Armed Forces Weekender will include family activities, a celebration of the armed forces and a visit from BCP Fostering’s Benji the Bear.
The programme continues next week with Summer Sounds on Christchurch Quay on 1 July, classic cars along Poole Quay on 3 July and the Upton Country Park Festival taking place across 3 and 4 July.
Foodie Fest is due to visit Muscliff Park on 4 July, before Swing Unlimited Big Band performs at Highcliffe Castle at sunset on 5 July.
BCP Council said dozens of festivals, cultural events and community activities are planned across the three towns during the summer, supported by its events team.
Councillor Andy Martin, portfolio holder for customer, communications and culture, said the programme shows the “incredible diversity” of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.
He added: “It is brilliant to see so many people coming together to enjoy everything on offer, from large-scale festivals to local community celebrations.”
Residents and visitors heading to the coast or outdoor events are being advised to take suncream, stay hydrated and watch for changing weather conditions.
The wider summer programme also includes shows, concerts, comedy and family events through BH Live, with performances ranging from Elvis tribute acts to Dinosaurs Live.
