A petition is calling for two senior BCP Council figures to resign from their positions.
Published on Change.org, it calls for council leader Millie Earl and chief executive Aidan Dunn to step down, alleging residents, communities and local businesses feel “ignored, unheard and let down”.
The petition mainly criticises the council leadership for not holding an open public meeting, which it says residents have requested, while also raising concerns about transparency and decision-making.
Those behind it claim local businesses have not received enough support and say empty buildings are damaging town centres and the local economy across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.
The petition also questions spending on projects it describes as “unnecessary or poorly prioritised”, while citing legal challenges and court losses which it claims have cost taxpayers money.
Further concerns include the handling of homelessness and public safety, councillor conduct and decisions made by the leadership, which petitioners link to what they see as declining confidence in the authority.
It concludes by calling for “new leadership” focused on residents, business support, public safety, financial responsibility and transparency in an effort to “restore trust” in local government.
