£1,000 grants open for Christchurch projects

Voluntary and not-for-profit groups in Christchurch are being invited to apply for funding through Christchurch Town Council’s Community Grants Scheme, which supports projects that benefit local residents and enhance community life.

Grants of up to £1,000 are available for a wide range of initiatives, including youth activities, wellbeing projects, heritage schemes, environmental work, arts programmes and improvements to local facilities.

Councillor Maggie Fidler, Town Mayor and Chair of Christchurch Town Council, said the scheme supports projects that “bring people together, improve wellbeing, protect our environment and strengthen our community.”

Last year, funding was awarded to organisations such as Christchurch Harbour Watch, the Phoenix Widowers’ Group and Friends of Mudeford Infant School.

Applications will be assessed on community need, the benefits delivered, value for money and the impact on Christchurch residents and the local environment.

The council is particularly interested in projects that encourage participation, support vulnerable residents, promote inclusion and enhance social, cultural or environmental wellbeing.

Application forms and full details are available at www.christchurch-tc.gov.uk/community-grants

Applications close on 28 September 2026.
