Fly-tipping returns to Bournemouth flats

Fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour have returned to 21 Knole Road in Bournemouth, despite previous efforts to clear the site and secure the building.

The block of flats had been boarded up and cleaned following joint action by residents, council officers and Dorset Police after earlier problems with squatting and waste dumping.

Ward Councillor Sara Armstrong is urging Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council and partner agencies to act quickly, saying the community deserves safe streets and effective public authorities.

Councillor Kieron Wilson, Cabinet Member for Housing and Regulatory Services, said the council is working to address these issues directly, emphasising that protecting communities and the environment remains a priority.

He added that while the land is privately owned, the council takes fly-tipping very seriously and will continue to take targeted enforcement action when needed.

The situation at Knole Road highlights ongoing challenges with maintaining clean and safe neighbourhoods in the area.
