Residents in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole marked Age Without Limits Day by coming together for a series of events focused on staying active, connected and supported in later life.
The celebrations highlighted how BCP Council, through BCP Homes and the Age Friendly Communities approach, works with local partners to support independence and wellbeing for older people.
Councillor Sandra Moore said creating an age-friendly place is about bringing together homes, community spaces and partnerships to help people live well.
At Gladys Court in Bournemouth, residents and their families took part in accessible dance sessions led by Pavilion Dance, with live music from Jewell Harmonies. The event was filled with energy and laughter, showing the benefits of staying active and engaged.
In Poole, Friends of Bourne hosted an intergenerational event at Bourne Community Hub, where care home residents, school pupils and community members enjoyed games, crafts, music and a traditional cream tea. In Christchurch, the Community Connections programme continues to help older residents stay social and involved through regular activities and transport support.
These activities demonstrate a joined-up approach, with safe homes, welcoming spaces and strong partnerships helping people feel connected and valued as they age.
