BCP Council has received a “requires improvement” rating for its adult health and social care services following a Care Quality Commission inspection.
Inspectors looked at nine areas of the service and identified inconsistencies in people’s experiences, along with delays in parts of the system.
The CQC rated safeguarding and leadership as “Good” and said the council provides people-focused care and supports residents to live independently.
The report also found 91.4 per cent of people felt BCP helped them feel safe, above the England average.
The council says improvements are already underway, including reducing the occupational therapy waiting list from 633 people to 14 in the past year.
Councillor David Brown said the council remains committed to delivering high-quality care, while officers said further work is continuing to improve consistency and outcomes.
