The Chief Constable of Dorset Police is just one of the people with a local connection being recognised in the latest honours list.
Amanda Pearson received the King’s Police Medal, with the Dorset citation listed alongside her name in recognition connected to policing.
Meanwhile, former Bournemouth councillor Philip Broadhead has received an OBE for public service following his work in local government and as Chair of the Conservative Councillors Association.
Elsewhere, Philip Alan Broadhead, from Bournemouth, has been made an OBE. He is listed as lately chair of the Conservative Councillors Association and has been recognised “For Public Service”.
Two Bournemouth recipients have been made MBEs. Georgina Hurcombe, founder and managing director of LoveLove Films, receives the honour “For services to Television and the Creative Sector”.
Professor Jian Jun Zhang, Professor of Computer Animation at the National Centre for Computer Animation, Bournemouth University, has also been made an MBE.
His honour is listed “For services to Computer Animation Research, to Education and to Innovation in STEM”.
Paul Kitching, from Wimborne, has been awarded a BEM. He is Head of the Natural History Museum, Tring, and is recognised “For services to Museums and to the community in Tring, Hertfordshire”.
Keith Prince, an on-call firefighter with Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, has also received a BEM for services to the community in Cranborne, Dorset.
The honours recognise achievements across policing, public service, education, the creative industries and community service.
