Residents asked to shape new ASB plans

People across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole are being asked to help shape a new ASB strategy.

The Safer BCP Partnership is creating the strategy for the BCP area and wants to understand more about residents’ perceptions and experiences of anti-social behaviour, alongside the data already held by local agencies.

The survey is aimed at BCP residents, local businesses, and anyone who works in, studies in, or visits the area, with responses helping to identify the issues having the greatest impact on local communities.

Anti-social behaviour is described as behaviour that causes, or is likely to cause, “harassment, alarm or distress to others”, including personal, nuisance and environmental behaviour.

Examples include aggressive begging, abuse, harassment, noisy neighbours, rowdy groups, street drinking, graffiti, vandalism, littering and fly-tipping, depending on the type of behaviour and its impact.

The partnership says anti-social behaviour in BCP has reduced by 18% in the last year, but it wants to go further by reducing incidents and increasing feelings of safety.

The survey asks about perceptions of anti-social behaviour, personal experiences, whether incidents were reported, views on actions taken, and how local issues are being handled.

Responses will be confidential, and the partnership says people should not use the survey to report current anti-social behaviour requiring a response.

The survey runs from 21 May to 12 July 2026 and you can take part here.
