Thousands of visitors headed to Westbourne as the motor show returned with entertainment across the village.
More than 160 vehicles were displayed across Poole Road and Seamoor Road during the Bournemouth Coastal BID Westbourne Motor Show, produced in partnership with the British Motor Show. The event also marked the first time the whole of Westbourne had been pedestrianised and closed for a public event, with support from BCP Council.
Alongside the cars, visitors enjoyed interactive attractions, children’s driving experiences, funfair rides and live entertainment throughout the day.
Tim Shaw from Car SOS and YouTuber Sam Hard hosted interviews with vehicle owners, sharing stories behind the cars on display and memories linked to them. Harry Redknapp also visited the event and said: “It is my first time coming to this wonderful event, but I am definitely coming back next year!”
Businesses across Westbourne joined in with themed promotions, live music and food stalls, while a special “Pit Stops” map highlighted venues taking part. Evening events continued after the official finish, with comedy, DJs and live performances held at venues across the area.
Several businesses reported strong trade during the day. James Roper and Warren Edwards from The Hutch said it was their “busiest organic day since opening”, while Luca’s coffee shop said sales “surpassed our opening day”.
Bournemouth Coastal BID said the event showed strong support for more community events in Westbourne.
