A man has been jailed after being linked to eight burglary offences in Bournemouth following an investigation by Dorset Police’s burglary team.
Peter Levy, aged fifty-three and of no fixed abode, appeared at Bournemouth Crown Court and was sentenced to three years and four months in prison after admitting three burglaries.
He also asked for five further offences to be taken into consideration during sentencing. The offences included incidents where residents in Clarendon Road and Egerton Road discovered intruders or missing items from their homes.
In one case, a doorbell camera alerted occupants to suspicious activity at their front door in Soberton Road, prompting the defendant to flee when confronted.
CCTV enquiries led to Levy’s arrest and subsequent charges for two burglaries and one attempted burglary.
He later admitted to five additional burglary and theft offences committed in Bournemouth over a nine-day period, which were also considered by the court.
Detective Constable Jo Regan said the impact on victims is recognised, especially when crimes occur while they are at home, and emphasised the commitment to investigating all reported burglary offences.
