Muscliff food festival licence approved

A Caribbean food and drink festival has been granted a premises licence for Muscliff Park.

The Taste of the Caribbean Food and Drink Festival received approval from Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council’s Licensing Committee on Wednesday, June 5, allowing S and A Entertainment Ltd to run licensed events at the Bournemouth park.

The licence permits the sale of alcohol on site and allows both “live and recorded music” during events, with the first planned for Saturday, June 20, 2026.

A maximum of 4,999 people, including staff and exhibitors, will be allowed at the event at any one time under the terms agreed by the committee.

Residents had raised concerns about potential “noise”, “anti-social behaviour” and parking issues linked to the festival, but the committee was content with the event manager’s response to the points raised.

Several conditions have been attached to the approval, including the use of an incident and refusal log, noise monitoring and a requirement for all events to be registered with the council.

Future Taste of the Caribbean Food and Drink Festival events are expected to take place on consecutive Saturdays and Sundays between May and September each year.
