Six empty shopfronts in Bournemouth have been given new window displays along Old Christchurch Road.
The vinyl installations have been added at 6, 8, 60, 71 to 73, 80 and 84, creating retail style displays across vacant units used by people visiting, shopping and working in the town centre.
The project began in March 2026 with work at the first 3 properties before being extended to another 3, forming part of Bournemouth Town Centre BID’s efforts to improve the appearance of the area.
The organisation says covering empty windows can reduce their visual impact, discourage graffiti and vandalism, and help properties look cared for while they are being marketed to future businesses or investors.
Andy Duck, a BID board director and centre manager for the Avenue Centre and Bobbys, said the displays were “a simple but effective way of brightening shop windows” across the town centre.
He added that the project was intended to help Bournemouth feel welcoming for people using the town centre, while the completed windows create a more consistent appearance alongside existing shops, cafés and restaurants.
