Bournemouth Airport plans 823-space car park

Bournemouth Airport has submitted plans for a new car park with eight hundred and twenty-three spaces to help manage rising passenger numbers.

The proposal, put forward by Bournemouth International Airport Ltd, includes both short-stay and long-stay parking options to meet different traveller needs.

A new arm on the existing roundabout at Enterprise Way is part of the design, which would provide direct access to the car park site.

The airport is also considering a passenger shuttle bus to connect the car park with the terminal, aiming to improve convenience for travellers.

The airport, which serves more than forty destinations and contributes over two hundred million pounds to the local economy each year, says the car park is intended to address future requirements and manage parking within the airport’s boundaries.

This approach is expected to reduce pressure on the surrounding green belt and support more environmentally friendly parking solutions.

Residents can view the full proposal on the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council’s planning portal by searching for number P/26/03567/SCRN.

A decision on the plans is expected from council officers.
