JP Morgan plans five storey extension

A major new office building and car park could be built in Bournemouth, after plans were submitted for a large redevelopment at the Chaseside campus.

The proposal includes a five storey office building providing around two hundred thousand square feet of workspace, designed to accommodate approximately one thousand six hundred staff as part of a long term investment at the site, which already employs about five thousand three hundred people.

It’s in the area previously occupied by temporary offices nearest the Cooper Dean entry slip.

Planning documents say the ground floor would include food and drink facilities for employees, alongside back of house rooms, ancillary space and flexible areas that could be used for training sessions or larger auditorium style events.

A new pedestrian bridge is also proposed to connect the building with an existing office, improving movement around the campus, while a two storey decked car park would be built on part of the current surface parking area to increase on site capacity.

The wider scheme includes new hard and soft landscaping intended to improve accessibility and strengthen links to transport routes across the site, which already features internal roads, footpaths, cycle routes and outdoor facilities within a wooded setting.

The campus sits in the north east of Bournemouth, next to Littledown Park and alongside the A338 Wessex Way, and includes several established office buildings as well as listed historic properties.

If approved, the development would be built on the cleared Wiltshire plot, with the application stating the extra space would allow staff to move from other town offices and provide flexibility for future campus upgrades.

Public consultation on the proposals for 1 Chaseside, Bournemouth, BH7 7DA runs until January 23 under planning application number P/25/04768/FUL.
