Man charged after serious assault in Poole
A man has been charged after a serious assault in Poole town centre.
Dorset Police received a report just before 3am on Tuesday 23 September that a man in his twenties had suffered suspected stab wounds to his arm in High Street.
Emergency services attended and a police cordon was put in place. The victim was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious.
Following enquiries, officers arrested a 42-year-old man from Poole who is believed to be known to the victim. He has since been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
The man is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday 25 September.
Detective Sergeant Leo Christian of BCP CID said the charges followed detailed enquiries and consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service. He urged members of the public not to speculate online while the case is before the courts.
