  • Sandbanks car parks full and surrounding roads congested
  • Pride Parade currently working its way through town (11am till 1pm)
  • Bath South car park full
  • Durley Chine car park full
  • Sea Road and St John’s Road are congested at Boscombe
  • Crash reported on the A338 south bound after Cooper Dean – traffic coping well
  • Disruptions on the trains into Bournemouth from Southampton – check before you travel

Cars are also being towed from areas experiencing illegal and inconciderate parking, including this one towed from St Michael’s Road around 11.30am.

Councillor Rich Herrett from BCP Council confirmed that Sandbanks surface car park was already full by 9am, with traffic management teams now directing drivers to other nearby options.

Electronic signs are being used on approach roads to update motorists, and staff are monitoring the situation throughout the day.

Those planning to attend events like Sandpolo and SandFest this weekend are advised to arrive early and use public transport if possible, such as Morebus Breezer services 50 or 60 from Bournemouth and Poole.

BCP Council says it is working closely with transport partners and the Sandbanks ferry to help reduce pressure on the roads.

People using the ferry to travel on to Studland are reminded by the National Trust that BBQs and campfires are not allowed due to fire risk.

Cllr Rich Herrett added:  “Tow trucks will be parked in highly visible locations across the BCP Council area this weekend.

“If you obstruct a key route – you will be towed. You risk over a £100 fine to get your vehicle back, which might ruin your day out.”
