London art-pop act Enjoyable Listens will headline a live music night at Bournemouth venue The Bear Cave.
The event on Thursday 14 May will also feature Bournemouth indie group Powdered Cows, with local music community SHiNDiG organising the show at the basement venue. The night aims to bring together emerging artists and local audiences in one of Bournemouth’s established grassroots music spaces.
Enjoyable Listens is the project of songwriter Luke Duffett and has been attracting attention for its mix of art-pop, synth-pop and alternative folk influences. The act has recently toured alongside Electric Six and is known for combining melodic songs with observational lyrics and theatrical live performances.
SHiNDiG said it had followed the project for some time before arranging the Bournemouth date. Laura Pier Journal said organisers were “really excited” to introduce Enjoyable Listens to a local audience and bring the act to Bournemouth for the show.
Powdered Cows will join the line-up with their experimental indie sound, blending energetic guitars with unusual song structures. The band has built a following in Bournemouth’s independent music scene through regular grassroots performances and a distinctive live style.
Ski of SHiNDiG said the event continues a run of artists brought to Bournemouth’s music community and added: “We need the support of the wider community to keep it going.”
The show starts at 7pm, with tickets available online in advance.
