Police have issued a clear warning to anyone thinking of causing trouble in Bournemouth after officers and a teenage girl were injured during disorder near the beach.
The warning comes after incidents on Monday evening, 30 June 2025, when officers responded to reports of a fight in the Lower Gardens and a large disturbance near Pier Approach.
Several arrests were made. A 22-year-old man from Newbury was held on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker. Two girls from Bournemouth, aged 16 and 17, along with a 17-year-old girl and a 35-year-old woman from Poole, were arrested on suspicion of affray.
A teenage girl was taken to hospital, and a number of officers were also injured. None of the injuries are believed to be serious.
Chief Superintendent Heather Dixey said the force is working quickly to investigate the violence and warned that anyone involved will be dealt with firmly.
She said families should be able to enjoy Bournemouth beach without fear of disruption and confirmed that police patrols have been increased across the seafront.
The warning comes as the area sees a rise in visitor numbers during the summer. Officers say they want everyone to enjoy the beach but anyone intent on causing disorder is not welcome.
