Wimborne’s annual Discover Wimborne Festival broke records this year with 184 events across the month of April, the most in its nine-year history.
Organised by Wimborne Business Improvement District, this year’s programme included daily activities ranging from guided walks and wellbeing sessions to live music, art workshops and themed dining experiences.
Many events were free, making the festival widely accessible to both locals and visitors.
For the first time, events ran every day throughout April. New participants included Nusara Thai Fire Kitchen, whose “Thai Tuesdays” dining offer was so successful it will now continue on a regular basis.
Andy Lennox, founder of The Fired Up Collective which operates Nusara, said they were “really impressed with the engagement” and praised the festival for driving custom to local businesses.
BID Chair Fiona Harwood said the festival confirmed Wimborne’s reputation as a “thriving hub of culture and community” and thanked local businesses for their support.
Event details were made available through printed programmes, information boards and online listings.
Discover Wimborne is one of the town’s biggest annual events and is designed to promote Wimborne’s venues, traders and cultural spaces.
