BH Live has chosen the Sir David English Sports Centre in Bournemouth to become the first leisure centre operated by registered charity and social enterprise to offer electric vehicle charging.
In partnership with JoJu Charging, two EV chargers were installed during the the summer and has so far seen more than 700 electrical vehicle miles generated at the centre.
Charging is available only when the centre car park is open though.
This year, BH Live says it has invested more than £100k into energy efficiency measures to reduce energy wastage and improve the organisation’s overall carbon footprint.
Sir David English Sports Centre is operated by BH Live in partnership with Bournemouth School Charitable Trust.

Reducing our carbon footprint is a key priority of our environmental strategy as we strive to become a more sustainable organisation. We hope visitors benefit from this new facility.”
