Poole resident Graeme Souness has been recognised with a CBE in the latest King’s Birthday Honours list for services to Association Football and to Charity.
Wimborne’s Charlotte Elizabeth Pike, a Food Writer, Cookery Teacher and Chef, is also honoured with an MBE for services to Food Writing and to Food Education.
Elsewhere, Cricketer Rob Franks, author of “From Disability to Ability: My Journey” gets a BEM for services to Young People and to the community in Poole.
In reaction, Rob said: “Getting an award of any kind is a proud moment but being given one in the kings birthday honours 2024 list is unbelievable and this award is for EVERYONE who donated or shared for disadvantaged children back In lockdown in 2021.”
Frances Veronica Tomlinson-Mynors gets a BEM for Parliamentary and Political Service. She’s the organiser of the Conservative MPs Wives, Husbands and Partners Group.
Sharon Wood in Bournemouth receives a BEM for services to Trampoline Gymnastics. Sharon is the Chair of the Technical Committee at the British Gymnastics.
And Geoffrey Matthew Haywood, a committee Member of the Royal Marines Association in Poole gets a BEM for voluntary services to Veterans, particularly Veterans of 47 Royal Marine Commando Association.
