Morris scores late as Luton get cruical win over Cherries

In a lively back and forth game, Bournemouth were beaten two goals to one by Luton Town at Kenilworth Road, a result that puts the Hatters level with 17th placed Nottingham Forest.

The first half saw both sides feeling each other out with chances at either end, the biggest opportunity from the boot of Justin Kluivert that cannoned off the foot of the post.

The second 45 saw much more from both teams but it was the Cherries with the opener when Marcus Tavernier slotted a long-distanced shot into the bottom corner giving Thomas Kaminski no chance.

However, six minutes later the goalscorer was forced off injured and replaced by the dynamic Dango Ouattara.

Luton then came close as they struck the foot of the post through the ever-clincal Carlton Morris before Bournemouth cleared.

Rob Edwards’ side kept pushing and on 72 minutes Jordan Clark grabbed his first goal of the season when the ball fell to him on the half turn as he slotted past Neto.

Just when the point looked nailed on, Carlton Morris got himself on the end of a delightful Cauley Woodrow cross to steal a vital three points in their quest to stay in the top flight.

It is Luton’s first win since the end of January and the first time in their short Premier League history they have come from behind to claim victory.

As for Bournemouth, they remain 12th after losses for fellow mid-table fighters Fulham and Wolves as attention turns to their next game at home to Manchester United.
