Bournemouth have strengthened their grip on a top-10 finish after beating fellow south-coast side Brighton and Hove Albion by three goals to nil.
The Cherries started the stronger of the two teams and within 13 minutes went a goal to the good when Marcos Senesi headed past Bart Verbruggen to score his fourth corner goal of the season.
Brighton struggled to create chances but a superb run from Facundo Buonanotte caused a good low near-post from Mark Travers who started over Neto for the second consecutive game.
The second half saw much more control from the Seagulls but their hot restart was for nothing as Enes Unal rose above all to head home a Dango Ouattara and double the Cherries’ lead.
Roberto De Zerbi’s men did have much more of the ball in promising positions but the home backline answered everything the away frontline threw at them.
The third and final goal of the game came three minutes from time when Justin Kluivert continued his fine goalscoring form and rounded off a wonderful run by firing with power into the net.
Bournemouth’s perfect afternoon was disrupted on full-time when Antoine Semenyo was stretchered off the field with a nasty-looking injury that could keep him out of the Cherries’ last three games.
Andoni Iraola will now focus on a tough game against Arsenal next Saturday before facing Brentford and a mid-table Chelsea side to end an impressive Premier League campaign.
