Jack and the Beanstalk returns to Poole

Jack and the Beanstalk is coming to Lighthouse Poole for a new Christmas pantomime.

The production will run from Thursday 10 December to Sunday 3 January and is being made in Poole especially for Lighthouse audiences, following recent festive shows including Dick Whittington, Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin and Cinderella.

CBeebies star Chris Jarvis will write and direct the show, as well as appearing as Dame Trott. The creative team also includes production designer James Smith, choreographer Daniel Donaldson Todd and musical director Adam Tuffrey.

Chris said Jack and the Beanstalk includes “all the elements of a traditional family pantomime”, including story, comedy, songs, sets and costumes, along with “a few surprises as well”.

Sarah-Louise Young, who previously appeared at Lighthouse as King Rat in Dick Whittington and Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty, will return as Fleshcreep. She said she feels “part of the family” with Poole audiences.

Also returning are Poole-born West End performer Bernadette Bangura as Fairy Sunshine, Kieran Morris as Jack and Robert Rees as Merlin the wizard.

Sienna Glackin will make her first professional appearance in the production as Jack’s sweetheart Jilly.

Jack and the Beanstalk opens at Lighthouse Poole on Thursday 10 December and runs until Sunday 3 January.
