Dibbens prepares to reopen in Poole

A historic Poole Old Town building is reopening as Dibbens Deli and Grocer this month.

The former F Dibben and Sons premises will officially reopen on Friday 19 June, bringing the Dibben family name back to the town centre after the building remained closed for several years.

The new family-run deli and grocer is being led by Hayleigh Dibben, representing the next generation of the family business, following restoration work at the landmark site in Poole Old Town.

It will offer deli products, groceries and locally sourced goods, with the aim of supporting independent retail and adding to the area’s visitor experience.

A launch event will be held on Thursday 18 June for local businesses, stakeholders and representatives from across Poole, marking the start of a new chapter for the historic premises.

Visitors will be able to explore the restored building, see a “Before and After” exhibition showing its transformation, sample local produce and meet some of the businesses and artisans involved.

Hayleigh Dibben said reopening the building was “incredibly special” for her family, adding that many people have memories of Dibbens.

She said the family was proud to be “bringing it back to life” while creating something new for the community.

Jacqui Rock, CEO of Poole BID, said the reopening would help keep the town centre “distinctive” and welcomed the return of Dibbens to the heart of Poole.
