New immersive games venue for Poole

A new immersive gaming venue is set to open at The Dolphin in Poole this summer.

Activate Dorset will move into the former Flip Out unit, bringing a competitive social entertainment experience to the town centre, with 9 interactive game rooms under one roof.

The venue will include Activate’s signature games, including Strike, Portals, Control, Press, Hide, Laser, Grid, Mega Grid and Hoops, with challenges designed to test speed, strategy, memory and teamwork.

Groups of 2 to 5 players will be able to jump, climb and problem-solve through the different rooms, earning points and levelling up as they move through the experience.

Each room uses tracking technology and responsive digital systems, allowing teams to play together or compete against each other during fast-paced physical and mental challenges.

Colin Perry, National Operations Manager for Activate, said: “Activate is a completely new type of leisure experience for Poole.”

He said the venue would be “social, competitive and immersive” and aimed at families, friends and corporate groups looking for a shared activity.

John Grinnell, Centre Manager of The Dolphin, said the opening would strengthen the centre’s leisure offer and add more “experience-led attractions” for locals and visitors.

Activate Dorset will be suitable for children aged 6 and over, with adults required to stay at the facility throughout the experience for children aged 6 to 13.
