Bournemouth progress in FA Cup after Swansea hammering

Under the Thursday night floodlights, the Cherries returned to form with a 5-0 hammering of Championship side Swansea City in the FA Cup.

It was a first-half masterclass from Bournemouth that saw Andoni Iraola’s side take an early lead on seven minutes through defender Lloyd Kelly.

New boy Alex Scott doubled the home team’s advantage on 10 minutes and soon the Cherries grabbed a third from Luis Sinisterra.

Welshman David Brooks, who captained his side tonight, netted the 4th on 35 mintues before Dominic Solanke ended the half with the 5th and final goal.

After beating Queens Park Rangers in the 3rd round, Bournemouth are the first side to book their place in the prestigious competition’s round 5.

Bournemouth’s best ever FA Cup run saw them reach the quarter finals in 2020/21 before losing out to local rivals Southampton.
