Talbot and Branksome Wood residents to vote in by election

Residents in Talbot and Branksome Wood will vote later this week in a by election to choose a new councillor.

The election was called after the resignation of Philip Broadhead, who previously represented the ward. The vote takes place on Thursday 11 September, with polling stations open from 7am until 10pm.

Five candidates are standing to fill the vacant seat. Charlie Cushway is representing the Labour Party, Amy Louise Hardy is standing for the Green Party, Martin Houlden is representing Reform UK, Jo Keeling is standing for the Local Conservatives, and Dawn Logan is standing for the Liberal Democrats.

Voters who wish to cast their ballot in person must bring an accepted form of photo identification, such as a passport or driving licence, to their polling station.

The results of the Talbot and Branksome Wood by election are expected to be announced on Friday 12 September.
