A crew from Verwood Fire Station, along with colleagues from Ringwood and Fordingbridge were called to a ‘small’ fire at The Chase on Wednesday afternoon.
On arrival, a large fire measuring approx 50m x 50m contained within a area of standing trees and heath was discovered and extinguished.
Verwood Fire Station staff reported it looked like a camp fire or BBQ was the cause.
“We’re at Fire risk level “extreme “ for the next few days. Fire control have mobilised resources to several such incidents today as well as dealing with Wareham Forest,” the crew wrote on a Facebook post.
