A man aged in his 40s from the Dorchester area who was arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter has been released under investigation as enquiries continue.
Dorset Police received a report at 8.57am on Tuesday 3 January 2023 relating to an incident where a man sustained fatal injuries whilst a vehicle was being unloaded in Coopers Lane in Verwood.
Officers attended, along with the ambulance and fire services. Very sadly, a man aged in his 30s died at the scene. His family has been informed and the coroner made aware.
A cordon was put in place to allow an investigation of the scene and this has now been lifted. A vehicle has been recovered for further examination.
An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing, with Dorset Police working alongside the Health and Safety Executive.
