A Poole man has been jailed for seven years after being found guilty of raping a woman in her sixties at an address in the town.
The offences took place on two separate occasions in September and November 2022.
The victim reported the incidents to police in April 2023, prompting an investigation by detectives.
Stephen Dorris, aged sixty-three and from Poole, was arrested in June 2023. Both his and the victim’s mobile phones were examined as part of the investigation.
Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, Dorris was charged with two counts of rape.
He was found guilty after a trial at Bournemouth Crown Court and sentenced to seven years in prison. An indefinite restraining order was also imposed.
Detective Constable Thomas Norman praised the victim for her courage in coming forward, saying her actions ensured the offender would face the consequences of his actions.
