Wellbeing fair brings support to Poole

A new wellbeing fair brought activities, advice and fundraising to Upton Country Park in Poole.

Lewis-Manning Hospice Care hosted its first event of its kind on Sunday, 28 June, showing local people some of the approaches used to support patients living with life-limiting illness.

Visitors took part in Pilates, restorative yoga, Drumming for Health, yoga nidra and a sound bath, with local practitioners giving their time so proceeds from sessions could support the charity.

Lead Complementary Therapist Hannah Lammiman ran Wake and Shake and breathwork sessions, while Director of Clinical Services Laura Adams spoke about Total Pain and the need to consider every part of a person’s wellbeing.

People could also speak with local organisations, join bath bomb-making workshops with Lush Bournemouth and add messages to a sunflower display about what supports their wellbeing.

Upton Country Park created a Sunflower Matcha Smoothie for the day, with part of the proceeds donated to Lewis-Manning.

The hospice said the fair reflected its focus on helping people “live well” alongside care and support.
