Free Poole harbour cruises for veterans

Serving personnel and veterans can take a free cruise from Poole Quay on Armed Forces Day, and travel a Morebus for free.

Coastal Cruises Poole is offering complimentary places on its Harbour and Island Cruise on Saturday 27 June for serving military personnel and veterans who show valid military or veteran identification when boarding.

The operator says the offer is intended as a gesture of thanks to people who have served in the Armed Forces or continue to serve.

Carol Scott, managing director of Coastal Cruises Poole, said: “Armed Forces Day is an important opportunity to recognise the incredible dedication, courage and sacrifice of those who serve our country.”

She said the company wanted to show its appreciation by welcoming eligible passengers onto a cruise around Poole Harbour.

The trip will travel around the harbour and nearby islands, giving passengers the opportunity to enjoy the local scenery from the water.

Carol Scott added: “We wanted to show our appreciation by welcoming serving personnel and veterans aboard for a relaxing cruise.”

Eligible passengers can pre-book their place by contacting Coastal Cruises Poole or visit the blue kiosk on Poole Quay on Saturday 27 June.

The company says it is looking forward to welcoming members of the Armed Forces community as part of the day.
