A Dorset brewer and pub company has been named a Sunday Times Best Places to Work employer again.
Hall and Woodhouse, which is based in Blandford and runs around 150 pubs across the south, has been included in the Big Organisations list for the third year running.
The Sunday Times Best Places to Work Awards recognise UK companies for employee satisfaction and workplace standards. Results are gathered from team member surveys covering employee experience, reward and recognition, job satisfaction and wellbeing.
The Sunday Times commended Hall and Woodhouse for paying a living wage and offering apprenticeships and training to a diverse team, including care leavers, ex-offenders and young carers.
The company’s benefits, including profit share, bonus schemes and a beer allowance, were also highlighted as part of the recognition.
Dean Livesey, director of Great Place to Work at Hall and Woodhouse, said the company was “bursting with pride” to receive the recognition for a third consecutive year.
He said the team was “central to everything we do” and added that the business would continue to invest in staff for future generations.
Last summer, more than 800 team members attended the company’s Big Day Out at Dummer Down Farm in Hampshire. It was the first time in its 249-year history that nearly all managed pubs closed for the day.
Hall and Woodhouse will celebrate its 250th anniversary in 2027.
