Council monitoring fuel price increases

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council says rising fuel prices are not currently affecting its services.

The council says it is closely monitoring energy and fuel costs following increases linked to conflict in the Middle East.

According to the RAC, petrol prices in the UK have risen by around 17 pence per litre since late February.

Average pump prices were around 132.9 pence per litre for petrol and 142.4 pence for diesel before the conflict began.

By March 23, those figures had risen to about 146.4 pence for petrol and 169.8 pence for diesel.

A BCP Council spokesperson said the authority is keeping the situation under review.

They added that at the moment there has been no direct impact on council services, but price changes continue to be monitored.
