Poole play park reopens after safety works

A play park in Poole has reopened after safety improvements were completed.

Kingston Road playground had previously been closed due to safety concerns but has now reopened following repair work carried out by BCP Council’s green spaces team.

The work included installing new play equipment, repairing broken steps and laying a fresh safety surface as part of the council’s £4.4million Plan for Play programme.

Councillor Andy Hadley said the park is an important space for residents and added he was pleased it has reopened ahead of the Easter holidays.

He said council teams have been “hard at work relaying the surface, fixing the broken step and installing new equipment” to make the park safe for families again.

Further work is planned in the coming weeks including cleaning the site.

The improvements form part of a wider programme which has also delivered new equipment at Churchill Gardens, Mallard Road, Moordown Rec and Littlemoor Avenue, with further refurbishments being developed at Kings Park, Noyce Gardens, Baiter and Muscliff.
