Poole car park disposal approved by BCP

Peen Hill Car Park

BCP Council has approved the disposal of an underused Penn Hill car park in Poole.

Penn Hill Car Park in Canford Cliffs provides 47 spaces, along with two motorcycle bays and a disabled bay, and operates as a public pay and display facility close to local amenities within a designated conservation area.

A report to BCP Council’s cabinet said the site sits within a high value area but is consistently underused and generates relatively low levels of income compared with the potential value of the land.

Housing Delivery assessed whether the site could be used for development but concluded it was not viable for its needs, while officers also determined there were no operational requirements for the asset within the council.

Cabinet members approved plans on Wednesday to dispose of the site on the open market to achieve best consideration, although it is not yet known what the land will be used for or the eventual sale value.
