New Lidl plans submitted for Poole

Plans have been submitted for a Lidl supermarket on Ringwood Road in Poole, with the site already holding planning permission for redevelopment.

The latest application, made by Lidl Great Britain Ltd, seeks approval to demolish the remaining industrial buildings at numbers 570 to 580 Ringwood Road and replace them with a modern class E retail food store designed to serve the surrounding area.

Earlier proposals for the same plot included a drive through coffee shop alongside the supermarket, but planning documents for the new submission confirm this element has been removed, with the layout now focused entirely on the food store and associated facilities.

Plans show the development would include 114 parking spaces, cycle storage and new landscaping across the site, with documents also indicating the store would create around 40 jobs once operational, covering a range of roles.

Public consultation on the revised application opened on January 2 and runs until January 23, giving local residents and businesses the opportunity to comment on the proposals before a decision is made.

The application has been submitted under reference P or slash 25 slash 05065 slash FUL, with planning officers expected to determine the outcome after the consultation period, although no decision date has yet been confirmed.
