New homes for Constitution Hill in Poole
More than 100 affordable homes are planned for Constitution Hill in Poole.
BCP Council is proposing 116 new properties alongside a children’s play area, improved accessibility and enhancements to the woodland setting.
The scheme is on council-owned land that once formed part of Poole and Bournemouth College, where buildings became unsafe through vandalism and were cleared after demolition work started in June last year.
Demolition is expected to complete in December this year, creating a clean site for redevelopment that still depends on planning permission and an agreed funding strategy with cabinet and council early in the new year.
The proposed mix features 54 one bedroom homes, 41 two bedroom homes, nine three bedroom homes and 12 specialist one bedroom homes, supported by 90 car parking spaces and 190 cycle parking spaces.
A public consultation opened on 17 October and runs until 20 November, inviting views from residents across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole on the draft plans and priorities for the site.
People can take part online, visit a drop-in event on 6 November, or join an online engagement session on 12 November to share feedback.
