Residents in Talbot and Branksome Wood are heading to the polls today to choose a new councillor.

The by election was called after Councillor Philip Broadhead, the former Leader of BCP Council, stepped down from his role in July.

Five candidates are standing for the vacant seat. Charlie Cushway is representing the Labour Party, Amy Louise Hardy is standing for the Green Party, Martin Houlden is representing Reform UK, Jo Keeling is standing for the Conservative Party, and Dawn Logan is representing the Liberal Democrats.

Polling stations in the ward are open until 10pm, with results due to be announced tomorrow, Friday 12 September.

Voters are reminded that they must show an accepted form of photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence, in order to cast their ballot.
