Roads have been closed and homes evacuated following a fire at All Saints Church in Mudeford.
At 8.08pm on Thursday evening, firefighters from Christchurch were first called to reports of a property fire in Mudeford Lane.
Once they arrived on scene Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service crews requested extra resources and we currently have 12 fire engines, two water carriers and the aerial ladder platform on scene.
Firefighters used main lines to bring the fire under control and prevent further fire spread and Dorset Police closed the surrounding roads.
It is not clear, at this time, how the fire started.

Group Manager Stuart Gillion, who is on scene said: “We are asking the public to please avoid the area. Due to the weather, Christchurch and Mudeford are extremely busy this evening. To allow our crews to work safely and prevent the fire spreading, we are urging residents to stay away.”
A message of support was sent by nearby Christchurch Priory on Facebook: “Many of you will have heard that the emergency services are fighting a serious fire at All Saints Mudeford tonight. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and the people of Mudeford.”
